What is Social Proof?

This article outlines our social proof feature, how it works, and why it benefits your Feed.

What is social proof?

Sprout Social have an excellent definition of the concept of 'social proof' which they define as:

'The concept that people will follow the actions of the masses. The idea is that since so many other people behave in a certain way, it must be the correct behaviour.'

Why is it beneficial for your Feed?

Adding social proof to your Feed may encourage more prospects to engage with your ambassadors as they will see just how many others have gained valuable insights from your Feed.

How does it work?

Simply head to your Feed settings in the dashboard to switch it on:

The metric we use is based on new users on your Feed. A new user is a visitor who has never been on your Feed before; it is their first session. We also use this metric in the Activity Report

If you have had over 500 new users on your Feed since 29/04/2020 the text will display show the number of new users that have been on your Feed:

'Join XXX people who have gained first hand insights into life at [Institution Name]'

If you have had 201-500 new users on your Feed since 29/04/2020, we will display the following text:

'Join hundreds who have gained first hand insights into life at [Institution Name]'

If your Feed has had 0-200 new users since 29/04/2020, no text will be shown.
