Asking your IT Team to set up the Feed

This email template is designed to help you communicate with your IT colleagues about setting up your Feed.

Please note that you are encouraged to edit the text in bold or follow the indicated instructions before sending.

Hi [name],

We've recently started using a new service called The Ambassador Platform, which enables our ambassadors to represent us online via a Feed on our website, similar to the mock-up here. This allows prospective students to get in touch with ambassadors and find our more about life at our institution through these authentic connections. In order for us to use this service, we need to create a new page for our website on which it can run. The Ambassador Platform has created the following instructions which I hope make sense and are helpful:

The Feed widget is a single line of code that runs within an iFrame on a fresh page of your website.

To read more about the Feed click here.

To create our Feed, please follow these steps:

  1. Copy the Feed widget code:
[Copy and paste the TAP Feed embed code from within Settings > TAP Feed in your Admin Dashboard].

  2. Create a new page on our website for The Ambassador Platform and call it something like: [/chat, /chat-to-an-ambassador, /chat-with-a-student <-- feel free to choose an option for them]

  3. Paste the Feed widget code onto the new page and the widget should run

  4. Give the widget full width on the page

  5. It is recommended that additional content on the page is minimised but feel free to add a header or footer if you like

Note that the Feed will be empty until ambassadors have been approved, posts published or FAQ answers approved.

If you wish to use pop cards, feel free to include the text below:

We would also like to use pop cards around the site to make it clear to prospects the availability of this service for them. The pages we would like the pop card to appear is as follows:

  • [ABC]
  • [123]
  • [XYZ]

We have already created the pop card through the Admin Dashboard and what we now need your support with is to simply implement these pop cards on the above pages. The instructions from The Ambassador Platform are as follows:

  1. Copy the following javascript, embed code for the pop cards:
[enter pop card embed code from dashboard]
  2. Paste this code between the <body> </body> tags on the pages listed above, within your CMS

If you have any questions, you can contact their team at any time on support@theambassadorplatform.com or calling 020 3626 4663.
