Everyone ❀️️ an emoji

Yes, the 17th of July was World Emoji Day - and important celebration of the benevolent omnipresence of the smiling pictogram. University social media bods rose to the occasion with a range of hilarious responses. The University of Limerick responded with typical cheeky brilliance in this tweet. We celebrated by giving one of our founders, Nik, a much-needed facelift. However, laughs aside, there’s more to the poo-with-face or hair-flick-girl than you might think. Recent research has demonstrated the value of the emoji as a tool to influence audience behaviour. Stick in an aubergine, brain, or facepalm and you can expect a 66% better email open rate and a 254% improvement to push notification responses.
